A little village in the state of Andhra Pradesh, around 10 km from the city of Guntur is the Uppalpadu village, which is famous for the Uppalapadu Bird Sanctuary. The bird sanctuary here is a well-known hub of various local birds. Many others migrate from as far off as Australia and Siberia to this water body for nestling.
This is the home of about 7000 birds of various species, amongst which spot-billed pelican is the centre of attraction for bird lovers.Besides, there are painted storks, pintail ducks, red crested pochards, common teals, ibises, common coot etc. that throng this place, making a fantastic sight for bird watchers.
