Gujarat is a land of impressive palaces and havelis, impressive forts and temples, surreal archaeological sites, colourful markets, picturesque lakes, the sea and the beaches, forest, rolling hills and white sand dunes. Gujarat dates back to the Harappan Civilization and is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. Gujarat is one of India’s most industrialized states. Ahmedabad, the former capital of the state has a booming economy. Gandhinagar, the new capital of Gujarat (from 2015), 23kms north of Ahmedabad, sits on the banks of the Sabarmati River and is an extremely well planned city. The Gujarat Government is endeavouring to transform Gandhinagar into the convention capital of India. With the US President, Mr. Donald Trump’s visit to the Sardar Patel Stadium (Also called Motera Stadium), in Ahmedabad, in 2020, Gujarat has already made a remarkable mark on the MICE destination map of the world. The Sadrar Patel Stadium with a capacity of 110000 audiences is the largest cricket stadium in the world. Gandhinagar is definitely a promising MICE destination.
