High up in the north-west corner of Arunachal Pradesh that juts into Bhutan, and shouldered by China (Tibet), Tawang is a town situated at an elevation of over 3000 ft. is in the district of West Kamang under the state Arunachal Pradesh. It’s a part of the Tibet Autonomous Region and is considered as a Chinese town.
Tawang has become one of the popular hideouts for the seclusion loving tourists in recent times. This 10,000 feet altitude hillock is full of natural belongings which is attracting the sense of all. In winter there is much less rainfall in Tawang than in summer. Tawang receives snowfall every year during December – January. There is also a ski lift in town. Most of the travel from the plains is on a steep hill road journey. Tourist can travel Tawang from Tezpur, Assam by road and Tezpur has direct flights from Kolkata.
